Very Afraid!

Take baby steps....and reward yourself after each and every one...Try to focus on just one or two....try not to become overwhelmed by thinking this has to be in huge amounts. It works, too. The more you push yourself, the more confidence you gain, and the feeling of "Hey I can do this." It WILL likely be scary, but that is what risk is about... "Courage is NOT the ABSENCE of fear, but doing what you need to do, despite your fear." Know that others have gone before you and well, they're still here posting, so nothing bad happened to them... Hang in there....HUGS to you!!! ;)

I just finished session 1 of the program and it makes me very afraid to think about exposing myself to the situations that scare me the most. I can't really have a support system during this process because my fears and panic attacks come when I am alone and not able to reach the ones that give me strength and security. This is very scary. One of my biggest rituals is to always have a cell phone so I can contact my husband. If I can contact my husband when I am going somewhere I am fine. But if I can't I tend to panic. I DO however want to be able to be independent and free from this...sooo I will do the exposure exercises, but just thinking about it makes me feel like I am going to panic! Sincerely, festivefeet <><
